you’ve maybe thought or heard that the camera is like an eye,
but it’s not a perfect simile.
the camera has a rolling shutter,
the aperture of a single image is fixed,
its dynamic range is logarithmic,
and there are other differences
only the most technically-minded of us really understand.
beyond that, we live in the age of AI.
any snapshot could be a deception.
never trust a camera,
we all know they lie.
but we keep snapping anyway.
